What are the units of the absolute exposure "absexp" setting for the camera?

Is absolute exposure (absexp) in units of uS (microseconds) or 100uS? I see some cameras use 100uS but I can't confirm if this is true for JeVois.

absexp can be set from 1 to 1259 in JeVois Inventor. I looked at the datasheet for the camera sensor (ov7725 in my case) but I can't relate this back to any numbers I see there such as "Electronic Exposure Up To 510:1". Thanks!

Jevois-inventor does not load camera, 1.15 firmware, Latest Ubuntu 20 Virtualbox with 1.15

Hi, I'm having trouble getting jevois-inventor 1.00 to load on the latest Ubuntu V20 .vdi with JeVois 1.15.0 package (from a few days ago). I was able to compile all the JeVois packages (base package, etc for host and platform). when I run JeVois-inventor, with or without sudo, the camera doesn't load. guvcview works and the camera is connected to Linux. /dev/ttyACM0 is also created and I can communicate. But the program doesn't load up. I loaded the flash card on the JeVois with the latest 1.15.0 disk image. jevois-inventor 1.0 works on mac completely with the latest 1.15.0 disk image on the JeVois device. However when I attach the camera to Linux, the individual camera and USB to serial port work, but the inventor program is stuck "waiting for JeVois Smart Camera" even though it says Connected / video0 / ttyACM0 on the right. When I unplug and reconnect again, I see Connected / video0 / ttyACM0 again, and when I unplug it says "disconnected". However running guvcview loads up the camera. I can also picocom to ttyACM0. On the Mac side, I get the same error initially, however after unplugging and replugging inventor loads up with status "JeVois Inventor 1.0.0 with camera running JeVois 1.15.0. Reconnecting the camera back on the inventor side, I get the message JeVois Inventor 1.0.0 waiting for JeVois Smart Camera again on the bottom left, and it says Connected / video0 /ttyACM0 on the bottom right side of the inventor window. I have USB3 mode selected in VirtualBox. Thoughts?

The following is the output of dimes when camera connected using VirtualBox.
what is the best way to locate a red laser pointer spot using jevois ?

I am trying to detect a red laser pointer spot in order to use it for an arm picking an object . What is the best way to detect the location of the spot in in the camera window ? The laser dot is strong so the luminosity of the spot is high. Tried with Object Tracker but cannot find a suitable range of HSV able to reliably locate it. Is there any recommended way to do this ?

Thank you,

I am trying cause my Arduino UNO to trigger the recording of Video through the Save Video Module in Jevois.

I am trying cause my Arduino UNO to trigger the recording of Video through the Save Video Module in Jevois and save it on the SD card in the Camera. I want to trigger the start of recording and the end of recording using a button that I press on my Arduino UNO. Copied below is the code I am using. It is displaying the message in the Arduino Serial Monitor but it is not triggering the camera to begin recording or stop recording.
Jevois doesn't work after Raspberry PI reboots

I've come back to my Jevois after not looking at it for a year or so. I'm resurrecting an old project that I had almost working, but starting with a fresh install of everything. Raspberry Pi 3B powering the Jevois with the two headed USB cable.

I have a python program that runs Jevois and communicates by reading and writing via serial. I have it set up as a daemon to run on startup. When I run it by manually starting it, it runs fine. When I let it run automatically after a reboot, it does not work. I have a log file and I can see that it's not getting any response from the Jevois when run this way. I've tried increasing the wait time before the script fires up and that doesn't seem to help. When I run it via a manual restart after rebooting, it also doesn't work. It only works if I unplug the Jevois and plug it back in, and then start the daemon.

If I stop the daemon, guvcview runs fine. I do get some errors that might not be useful:

GUVCVIEW: capture_cond wait timedout (5 sec)
V4L2_CORE: Could not grab image (select timeout): Resource temporarily unavailable

Even after I run guvcview, the daemon doesn't work without a restart of the jevois.

Any ideas?

Jevois daemon hangs (solid green) upon Jevois-Inventor startup

This problem started last week. I'm using jevois 1.15 and jevois-inventor beta 0.5 on my Ubuntu 18.04 - not VM.

My camera suddenly stopped displaying video on my host computer, but still works in headerless mode. This error arose as I was creating a module's script.cfg file, which I've since deleted. Whenever I try to use Jevois-Inventor (or any other webcam viewer, for that matter) Jevois's LED turn solid green, and the computer doesn't recognise it is connected (I cease being able to communicate with the camera, and I get a notification that a USB device has been disconnected). I get no errors printing in terminal when I use other viewers, but whenever I attempt running Jevois-Inventor from terminal, it prints this error:

"QNetworkReplyHttpImplPrivate::_q_startOperation was called more than once QUrl("http://jevois.org/version")"

and

"Unable to query the parameter info: "Invalid argument""

and

"CameraBin error: "Could not read from resource.""

Similarly, I have not been able to operate the camera in PassThrough mode, and running the daemon on my host computer, despite aligning USB mode of PassThrough with the module I intend to run. Instead, video is streamed from my laptop's webcam.

I should note, I've no problems operating the camera in headerless mode (by issuing commands to the Jevois via serial socket connection, or "jevois-cmd" command). Also to note, other usb camera work fine on my computer.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, or have and sage words of advice?

Thanks!

Darknet YOLO Freezing

Hi, I have purchased a new Rasberry Pi 3B,

I have manged to get the Darknet YOLO example working on my Raspberry pi but it only works for about 30 seconds and then it freezes?

I have tried changing the power adapter and I have also swapped the USB cable but I am still having no luck.

All the other examples seem to work ok it just seems to be the two Darknet ones that are freezing but these are unfortunately the ones the I need, please can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the help

Green light remains on, fan turns on, camera not detected by Windows

Hi,

I purchased a JeVois Camera Beginner Turnkey kit at RobotShop.com last summer. Though, I only had time to play with it during the holidays. The green LED and fan turn on, but LED does not flash orange and does not later turn solid orange. The card is fully inserted and I properly hear the click sound.

I tried powering the camera with the Y cable or a single cable on

- my laptop with a HUB

- a desktop

- directly from an apple and amazon chargers

I tried re-flashing the provide 16 GB Micro SD card and another Sandisk Ultra 32 GB Micro SD card. None of them work.

I don't know what else to do to troubleshoot the camera.

Please help.

Thanks.

I bought a new global shutter camera. I used the following command line to obtain images

guvcview -ao none -f YUYV -x 640x360 -d /dev/video1

It returns a blurred image like this. Is this normal?

Uploading jpg's to the camera causes inventor to freeze

This is a follow up to my previous question about jevois inventor freezing. I may have found one of the causes. For my project I uploading 8 jpg images to the camera's data folder by exporting the camera as a virtual flash drive in inventor. I reflashed the sd card over the weekend to get fresh software, copied over my code that I had backed up, and things seemed to be working fine. Then, when I uploaded the 8 images that are read in by my program via opencv, inventor froze up as soon as I ejected the virtual flash drive from my computer. I tried my camera on my personal mac laptop and inventor still froze. So, it seems like uploading the images is what causes inventor to freeze up with my camera. Is their a limit to the files size for images that can be read in by the camera?

For reference, all I am doing with the code so far is editing the PyClassificationDNN code so that instead of the frame in each iteration being the current video frame, it is one of the jpg files I uploaded to the camera. I am using the module to identify certain objects in reference images. Also, just in case it is relevant, my cameras light stays solid green on both my windows work laptop and personal mac laptop, even after changing the sd card.

Trouble Connecting Camera Inventor on Windows

I am having some interesting issues with my Jevois Camera. Right now when I try to open inventor to work on my project, the image pane on the right is black, and after a few seconds the window stops responding. One thing I noticed is that the light on my camera stays green; it never becomes orange while booting up. Another thing I noticed that may be important is in the window that shows up when inventor initially boots, that gives me a list of available cameras, the only one listed is the integrated camera (webcam). Eventually this initial window closes when my camera is detected, but I find it strange that the camera is never in the list.

I have reached this point multiple times with my camera in the past few days. Basically I am working on a project using the Python DNN object classifying code module as a starting point. So far I am giving the camera an image from which to identify items, and will later move on to using the live video feed from the camera. It seems, though, after I start changing things in the code, eventually inventor gets to the point above where the image window is black and the window stops responding. I have pretty much been stuck in a cycle of flashing my sd card with the Jevois image, opening up the DNN code in inventor, editing the code of the module, having inventor freeze and become unusable, then re-flashing the SD and starting the whole cycle over again. One important thing to note is that even after re-flashing the SD card the boot light still stays solid green.

I'm really just wondering if my issues are due to user error and I am doing something wrong with how I am editing my code, or if there is a hardware issue that is causing my problems (since the boot light stays green).

Just got the new camera, boot seems ok (green, after ~ 5 sec. orange), after boot Windows 10 recognizes it ("JeVoisA33-Smart camera" shown in device manager),

now starting JeVois-inventor (beta 0.5.0), in the "Select Camera Device" screen i have to select "COM3:Windows Serial USB Device"

but then program says "Waiting for JeVois...., please connect camera...." and program doesnt react to anything.

What goes wrong?

Jevois is undetected by Windows PC. Tried Everything Please Help!

Hello Jevois.
I recently bought Jevois A33 from sparkfun.com and I followed all the startup guide procedures for flashing the card to inserting it properly in module. Yet my PC is not able to detect any hardware change or device when I plug the camera with micro usb cable that came with camera package.

The light is solid green on Jevois with a slight orange blink for half a second or 1 in beginning only. Jevois Inventor cant seems to detect my camera module However, when I press OK on it, an error message appears saying:
"Your Jevois Smart Camera was detected, but we coul not access its Serial-over-USB port. You may need to install the driver for it"
I installed the driver from link provided but it couldnt install saying no digital signature found in it. Please Help man, My Project is at stake!!

Jevois Camera not detected by Windows

I just bought a new Jevois Camera and flashed the microSD card with latest 1.14.0 image. When I connect the camera with sd card inserted it is not recognized by my windows at all. I tried reflashing the sdcard and also made sure the card was okay but now couldnot understand the reason why it isnt working.

The Light on camera blinks to orange initially for 1-2 sec and then is constant green throughout the time.

Nothing is detected on device manager as well

Camera ChArUco calibration errors

I am trying to calibrate the jevois camera with a 120 degree fisheye lens using this guide: http://jevois.org/tutorials/UserArUcoCalib.html

I have printed out the charuco board on a piece of A4 paper, measuring the ml=17mm, sl=30mm, and running the command:

./calibrate_camera_charuco -d=0 -h=5 -w=8 --ml=17 --sl=30 --rs --sc calibration.yaml

The problem is that after hitting esc to to do the calibration on the pictures I've taken, I usually get this error message:

OpenCV Error: Assertion failed (nCorners > 0 && nCorners == _charucoCorners.getMat(i).total()) in calibrateCameraCharuco, file /build/opencv-L2vuMj/opencv-3.2.0+dfsg/contrib/modules/aruco/src/charuco.cpp, line 703

and sometimes this error:

OpenCV Error: One of arguments' values is out of range (The number of points in the view #2 is < 4) in cvCalibrateCamera2Internal, file /build/opencv-L2vuMj/opencv-3.2.0+dfsg/modules/calib3d/src/calibration.cpp, line 1396

But if I take several pictures of the board mostly flat in front of the lens it completes the calibration without error.

I am running it on Ubuntu 18.04 virtualbox from a Windows 10 host. Using the video mapping YUYV 640 500 20.0 YUYV 640 480 20.0 JeVois DemoArUco

Does anyone have any idea why this happens? I'm grateful for any tips.

Serial communication with Ubunut 16.04 Host

Hello JeVois Team,

I am currently trying to make JeVois speak to a ROS-based system (on Ubuntu 16.04). I have already written some code which produces the desired output on the serial console in JeVois Inventor. As expected, I could not read the serial data from this port in a ROS-Node or Terminal, because the IDE blocks this port. So here my question: How can I run a specific script that's saved on Jevois without opening the IDE? I have already tried modifying the initscript.cfg (as explained in the headless tutorial), I can then connect to the port after plugging the cam out and in again but it shows no messages. I can not even determine what runs on Jevois after restarting, only when I open the IDE the saliency demo is running. (But if this demo would already run after plugging the camera in, wouldn't I see the serial output generated by it?)

I also already deactivated ModemManager, as written in your tutorial.

Thank you for your help

When i try camera with ffplay,it works, but not with jevois inventor

Hello, i am on Ubuntu 18, and i bought 2 cameras Jevois. After flashing the micro sd card, i tried jevois inventor on both cameras and got only pure blackscreen. But when i try ffplay, the video set up perfectly on screen. So the problem seems not to come from cameras... Any ideas?

Jevois does not working on Windows 10

HI.

I sucessfully installed Jevois drivers in Windows 10, but when I try to open Jevois Creator or choose it in AMCap, the image appears for some seconds and after that it simply disappears and the cam is disconnected. In Jevois Tech Zone I tryed some suggestions, like creating some registry inputs, but it didn´t work. I have also the last jevois SD image installed. Any suggestion to fix this this issue?

The camera is detected shortly after plugging it in. Using Javois inventor 0.5.0, the live image from the camera is displayed for about 1 or 2 seconds. Then the image goes away and it it says it is waiting for the camera. In the bottom right hand corner it says the camera is connected. Also device manager shows the camera is present always.
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'zbar'

While trying to use zbar instead of cv2.QRCodeDetector() to read qrcodes,

the following line in my python script

import zbar

triggers at runtime

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'zbar'

However, looking into the source of the modules/JeVois/DemoQRcode/DemoQRcode.C, I can see that it uses zbar in this cpp module.

It's just that the zbar python wrappers are missing. and i'm still unable to add such binding (again i'm stuck on the 'no pip install' on JeVois)

this readme https://github.com/jevois/jevoisbase/tree/master/Contrib

makes me suspect that just deleting '--without-python' in the ./configure may be enough.

Can zbar python module be bundled in the next JeVois release pls?

how to un-distort 90deg fov image with gpu?

Hello,

I am toying around with the AR0135
it comes with a default 3.6mm lens (88deg)

I am thinking of using it to observe markers on a flat ground for indoor localization.
I kinda like this near 90 field of view. but i do observe quite some distortion. Look on this preview with a white flat A4 paper is not a rectangle at all (not too mention that the sides of the image seem darkish and fuzzy)

i am pretty sure i have read -- maybe on the forum => http://jevois.org/qa/index.php?qa=153 -- that jevois comes with software to un-distort the image with its gpu somehow. i'd like to test that. but i am unsure of the vocabulary to use in order to search in the docs and no default module seems to be doing that.

what's the best way to get started?

thanks

Can Jevois handle inputs + outputs ?

Hello All ,

sorry for this newby question (I'm still discovering JeVois and how to use it ) :

I've a project where I need to track object ( using openCV + MOG2 background subtraction + max blob detected 'tracking' ) . So I'd need to be able to send input data ( my max blob area size thresehold for example , using a potentiometer connected to my arduino board // and maybe a dynamic ROI area too using another potentiometer etc ) so those potentiometers would be input datas into JeVois cam . And in return from JeVois cam I'd need the (x,y) tracking coordinates result ..

So if this possible, how would you do such connexions ? I guess using the Serial port (outputs ? ) ? + USB one (inputs ?) ? ( no computer would be connected as it is for an autonomus outdoor project ( only the JeVois cam, Arduino board , potentiometers and some servo motors .. + battery :) )

Thanks by advance if you have any tutorial link or any explanations that could help me.

I manage to see the live feed in jevois-inventor but i have some sort of a trace on the image. I unscrewed the lens and it seems to be some dirt or hair (hard to say) inside against the sensor.

i do not dare touching it. not cleaning it.

what can i do to fix that without damaging the sensor?

Serial over USB not working with raspberry pi zero

This is really a Raspberry Pi Zero question more than a Jevois question, but I thought I'd ask it here since someone may have come across it already.

I have a python script that sends serial commands to the Jevois cam and gets video and serial responses via the USB connection. It works fine on windows, Ubuntu and on a Raspberry Pi 3B+.

It doesn't work on a Raspberry Pi Zero. It either hangs or crashes when the script writes to the serial port port depending on which device I use.

Any ideas?

One possible clue is that dmesg seems to show the Jevois being treated as an SD card.

Interfacing with LabView for FIRST robotics

In the FIRST FRC competition we are required (for streaming video) to show the images on the screen using the Labview 'Dashboard' feature. Camer mounted on the robot and communication through the robot's National Instrumnts RoboRio computer.

This appears to require USB output to the Robot computer.

The standard Microsoft WebCam will do this, but so far we can't get the Jevois (or PixyCam 2 for that matter), to work this way.

After streaming video is achieved then we will want image tracking.

Interfaces with Arduino and C language would be nice but are out of our time frame (3 weeks left to finish the machine).

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

What could make Inventor 0.5.0 send code as if it were commands?

Suddenly, I can't 'save to jevois' in the code tab of inventor. Version 0.5.0. It was working....

I can 'load from jevois' OK, but when I hit the 'save to jevois' button after editing, I get the usual prompt, but then a popup with an error: "ERR: Could not write file /jevois/modules/..." and I see in the Inventor console window that I am getting a whole lot of 'unsupported command errors' from what looks like the code that I was trying to save. It's as if the code is being sent over the tty that was expecting commands. The only thing I can think that I might have done to contribute to this problem was send some binary to the console at one point.

I have taken that binary-sending code out (on the jevois as well by editing the file directly on the exported sd card) stopped and restarted Inventor and power-cycled the jevois camera a few times, switched to other vision modules etc and the problem persists. The code itself runs OK on the jevois and I can get the code back by doing 'load from jevois' OK, just can't save it back anymore.

Here's the first few errors from the Inventor console showing the USB log that makes me think the code is being sent to the wrong comms. The first line is probably where it all starts to go wrong and the rest is the first few lines of my code that I was trying to 'send to jevois'. It keeps this up for the entire file.

ERR Unsupported command [JEVOIS_FILEPUT 29288]

ERR Unsupported command [import libjevois as jevois]

ERR Unsupported command [import cv2]

ERR Unsupported command [import numpy as np]

ERR Unsupported command [import math]

stop a module without starting another one

Hi,

I am building a battery powered system with JeVois. The idea is to start two different scripts via the UART connection. One for starting TensorFlow, setting the CPU rate and categorize the detected object and another one to stop TensorFlow and reduce the CPU clock rate to 120 MHz to safe energy.

CameraOn.cfg

cpumax 1344 #set CPU maximum frequency
setmapping2 YUYV 1280 1024 7.0 JeVois TensorFlowEasy #start TensorFlowEasy
setpar serout USB
#setpar serlog USB #debug output
setpar serstyle Normal #Normal: topcateg:topscore
streamon

CameraOn works pretty well. I got a problem with CameraOff.cfg.

streamoff
setmapping 0 #no videostreaming over USB
setpar cpumax 120 #set CPU maximum frequency (default setting 1344)

setmapping 0 starts an module. Is there any way to stop TensorFlow without starting another module or an "low-power-consumption" module?

Thanks!

Hello,
I'm working on windows 10 pro, 64 bits. The tuto with OBS to use the camera is working correcly, so I know that the camera is correctly linked to my computer.

However, when starting jevois inventor, the demosaliency is not starting automatically, and no camera is recognized, but in the bottom right I have a message telling me the camera is connected.

Please could you help me ?

Note : sd version of jevois = jevois-image-1.11.0-8G.img and inventor version = 0.5 (also tried v 0.4)

ArUco blob camera settings not working

Looking at the script.cfg there are a number of camera settings that don't happen. For example:

setcam autowb 1

setcam autogain 0

setcam autoexp 0

setcam redbal 110

setcam bluebal 160

setcam gain 16

setcam absexp 500

Have no effect on camera settings. Is this a bug or am i using the wrong command?

could you confirm that it is not possible to select video mode over the serial link

I am helping someone with an entry to PI Wars. They have a PI zero and I thought my JeVois camera would be

ideal for the autonomous tasks as they are using a PI zero for the robot.

I have got a python script woking for the Hubble challenge which is basically to detect Red Green Blue Yellow shields in a specified order. The Object Tracker example is perfect for this, I just change the thresholds for each colour.

Video Selection at the moment is via jevois inventor.

There are other examples on the camera which are perfect for the other challenges.

What I wanted to do was run a "Hubble" script which uses the serial link to select the Object Tracker, sets thresholds etc and then as per the arduino pan/tilt tutorial uses the output from the camera to control the robot.

Then for the straight line challenge run a "Line" script which selects the Road Navigation script and again use the camera output to control the robot.

That way we do not have to connect to the camera over the USB between challenges.

If I understand this answer correctly we will have to edit initscript.cfg between challenges?

thanks

Why can't I see console output in Inventor?

Inventor 0.4.0 on Windows 10 with camera running JeVois 1.11.0.

Anything valid I type into the console returns blank lines (or maybe white text on white background...) followed by OK

Invalid commands return an 'ERR Unsupported command'

Text from my own code will only show in console on Inventor if it starts with ERR or INF.
Tried, Terse, Normal, Detail and Fine filters in Console tab and made no difference.

Can I download the *.deb packages (jevois-opencv, jevois-host, jevois-platform, jevoisbase-host, jevoisbase-platform, jevois-sdk, jevois-sdk-dev) from jevois.usc.edu/old and install them via "sudo dpkg -i *.deb? Or is there some instructions on how to do that?
Low Power Mode

Hi, I would like to know if the camera system is able to perform any sort of sleep/hibernation mode when it does not require to run any image processing tasks. As our system only require computer vision processing for certain types of events triggered either via some sort of timer or external interrupt, we would like to explore the possibility of putting the module into low power mode to reduce current consumption rather than disabling power source to the module and having to go through the start up boot sequence every time.

Is there any cmd/code that we can exploit to do this?

Thanks and appreciate any help for this.
Setting the system to sleep/hibernate

Hi,

I'm using the camera for a specific event detection and processing. All other times, I actually do not require the system to be powered up and running. Is there a way/cmd to initiate and send the system into hibernation/sleep/low-power mode to save power? This is short of disconnecting the power totally from the camera and having to go through the boot sequence over again everytime the system starts up.

Thanks,
Hardware serial gives no module output without USB connection

I have a microcontroller connected to the serial output of the JeVois camera. Via this serial line I can send commands to the camera and receive its response.

For the DemoArUco module, when I power up the camera, I receive the boot messages:

INFO: JeVois 1.9.0

INFO: Linux version 3.4.39

INFO: CPU: 1344MHz, 30C, load: 0.24 0.05 0.02 1/57 87

INFO: MemTotal: 238428 kB, MemFree: 170328 kB

INFO: OUT: YUYV 640x300 @ 60fps CAM: YUYV 320x240 @ 60fps MOD: JeVois:DemoSaliency C++

INF READY JEVOIS 1.9.0

Then I issue a number of commands:

setpar serout None

streamoff

setmapping2 YUYV 320 240 30.0 JeVois DemoArUco

setpar serialdev Hard

setpar serlog Hard

setpar serstyle Detail

setpar serout Hard

streamon

And get the response:

OK

ERR Unsupported command [streamoff]

INF Engine::setFormatInternal: OUT: NONE 0x0 @ 0fps CAM: YUYV 320x240 @ 30fps MOD: JeVois:DemoArUco C++

INF Camera::setFormat: Camera set video format to 320x240 YUYV

INF Engine::setFormatInternal: Instantiating dynamic loader for /jevois/modules/JeVois/DemoArUco/DemoArUco.so

OK

INF Engine::setFormatInternal: Module [DemoArUco] loaded, initialized, and ready.

ERR engine:serialdev: Provided value [Hard] rejected because Parameter is frozen

OK

OK

OK

INF Camera::streamOn: 5 buffers of 153600 bytes allocated

INF Gadget::streamOn: 4 buffers of 384000 bytes allocated

OK

INF ArUco::detectMarkers: Loaded camera calibration from /jevois/share/camera/calibration320x240.yaml

And after that I receive the correct output if an ArUco code is in view, e.g.:

D2 U17 4 -284 215 -384 205 -382 178 -281 188

This all works fine as long as i power the camera via the USB of my computer (no jevois software such as jevois-inventor is running on this computer). However, when I power the camera via a power-only USB plug (so no data connection to the computer) I get the same response to the commands, but I receive no output if an ArUco code is in view.

What do I need to do to get this working without a connection to my computer?

It seems related to the problem mentioned here, but it gives no solution.

A Question about videomapping

Hello,

I'd like to create and use a new SaveVideo module 640x480 size.

so, I wrote 'NONE 0 0 0 YUYV 640 480 30.0 Jevois SaveVideo' in jevois/config/videomappings.cfg.

and I execute 'jevois-add-videomapping NONE 0 0 0 YUYV 640 480 30.0 Jevois SaveVideo'.

As a result, I saw it on the listmappings

But, it didn't work properly

When I ran the SaveVideo module that I had written, the video introducing jevois was displayed and later the result was that I filmed running another module.

help me please

Thank you

Hi,

when I connect the camera I get the following message:

Malformed JeVois software version from JeVois Smart Camera

Why?

Thanks and regards,

Connecting camera via serial interface to a Raspberry PI3

A friend is on the standby list for PI Wars and i have suggested that we use my jevois camera for the autonomous challenges, i.e. detect coloured shapes and move towards them. That way we can use his PI 0 for the actual robot and offload the image processing.

So, I have followed the script to control a pan/tilt connected to an arduino, this works so I know I am entering commands correctly, e.g serout T2 10000 10000

I have connected the yellow lead to the PI Tx input on GPIO14, physical 8, ground and power to 3.3V

followed instructions to disable console login, enable serial interface etc.

tried this code

import serial

import time

serdev = '/dev/serial0' # serial device of PI

    with serial.Serial(serdev, 115200, timeout=1) as ser:

    while 1:

        # Read a whole line and strip any trailing line ending character:

        line = ser.readline().rstrip()

        print "received: {}".format(line)

I have tried other examples from the web, with and without sudo.

Nothing is being output.

Currently very confused, so my question is has anyone connected the jevois to a Raspberry PI using the serial interface, and if so, how.

thanks
